FRUIT BODY: Up to 10cm tall. A small member of the Helvellacaea group with an irregularly shaped yellow-brown cap on top of a creamy white wavy stem that is hollow and finely downy at the apex. GILLS/PORES: N/A. FLESH: Whitish, thin and brittle with no distinct odour or taste. SPORES: Hyaline, smooth and broadly ellipsoid with one large droplet. HABITAT: Solitary or in small groups in mixed woodland. SEASON: Inrequent. Early Summer to Autumn. EDIBILITY: Edible but tasteless.
